Från Cuzco söder ut till Puno vid Titicacasjön tog vi tåget. Ca 56 mil på 11 timmar genom Anderna.

From Cuzco going south to Puno by the Titicaca lake we took the train. About 350 miles took around 11 hours thrue the Andees.

Vårt resesällska kunde säga hello, yes, no och ok på engelska. Vår spanska är marginelt bättre så det blev en del bokläsning istället...

Our travel company could say "hello, yes, no and OK" in English. Our spanish marginally better so there was alot of book reading instead...

Tåget tog oss upp till högplatån i de Peruianska Anderna.

The train took us up to the high lands in the Peru Andees.

Som högst passerde vi La Raya, 4319 meter över havet. Kebnekaise är enligt vår atlas 2114 meter.

At the highest point we passed La Raya on 13.400 feet above the ocean. Kebnekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden, is accordenly to our atlas 6500 feet.

Just efter La Raya ligger ett träsk som delar vattnet. Åt ena sidan rinner det ut genom Peru till Stilla Havet och andra sidan via Amazonas genom Brasilien till Atlanten.

Rigth after La Rays is wet lands which divides the water. One side pures down thrue Peru to the Pacific ocean and the other side via Amazonas thrue Brasil to the Atlantic ocean.

Väl framme i 80.000 personers staden Puno på 3830 meter. Man kunde känna höjden när man gick uppför trappor.

Puno, a city with 80.000 people on 12.000 feet. You could feel the altitude when walking up stairs...
