In Rotorua the first tribes of Maori settle down, they came with giant canoes from the Polynesian islands around year 1200. It was seven canoes with about 100 people in each canoe that was the first seven tribes. Women is tatoos on their chin and performs different songs and acts.
I Rotorua bosatte sig de forsta stammarna av Maori som kom med
jattelika kanoter fran den polinesiska ovarlden kring 1200.
Det var sju olika kanoter med ca 100 pa varje som bildade sju olika
stammar. Kvinnorna ar tatuerade pa sin haka och utfor ofta danser med
mycket sang och konster med vita bollar i snoren.
The men often has tatoos covering the whole face, here performing their war dance - the Haka.
